How hashtags work behind the scenes

Step-by-step

1. 1When you publish a post, Brigaly automatically scans the text and extracts all hashtags.
2. 2Extracted hashtags are converted to lowercase and deduplicated — so #Education and #education count as the same tag.
3. 3Each hashtag is stored in a global index that tracks its usage count and the last time it was used.
4. 4This means you do not need to manually tag your post — just include hashtags naturally in your text.
5. 5If you edit a post and change the hashtags, the index is updated accordingly.
