How hashtags work behind the scenes
Hashtags & Content DiscoveryUse hashtags on Brigaly to categorise your posts and discover relevant content. Hashtags are automatically extracted from your post text, stored in lowercase, and indexed for trending and search. Click any hashtag to filter posts by topic.
Step-by-step
- 1When you publish a post, Brigaly automatically scans the text and extracts all hashtags.
- 2Extracted hashtags are converted to lowercase and deduplicated — so #Education and #education count as the same tag.
- 3Each hashtag is stored in a global index that tracks its usage count and the last time it was used.
- 4This means you do not need to manually tag your post — just include hashtags naturally in your text.
- 5If you edit a post and change the hashtags, the index is updated accordingly.
